It had been a couple of years since I had seen Dawes live, so I jumped at the chance to see them in October. My co-worker Brandon told me he was going to there show in January at the Orpheum in Los Angeles, but that was in three months! Well, being in an instant gratification world that we live in, I found out I could see them much sooner in San Diego at a venue that I have been meaning to check out.
The evening started with dinner across the street from the Observatory in the North Park neighborhood in San Diego. This is a couple of hours from my house, but my brother-in-law lives close, so we had dinner and hung out for a while. The food was ok, but the time spent with Jeff was great!
The show would just be Dawes performing as there were no opening bands. They played two sets and also included a mini acoustic set. All in all, it was a great crowd and great show for a Monday night. Enjoy the images and the highlights that I shot!
